Description
INCI: Centaurea cyanus (Cornflower) Hydrosol
Origin: France | Steam Distilled | Certified Organic | Preservative-Free
Delicate and deeply soothing, Organic Cornflower Hydrosol—also known as Bachelor’s Button—is steam distilled from the fresh, certified organic blossoms of Centaurea cyanus. This hydrosol carries a light, herbaceous floral aroma with a smooth, gentle finish that settles gracefully on the skin and in the senses. Considered a top to middle note, its aromatic energy is both uplifting and cooling—ideal for calming the nervous system and easing physical tension.
Renowned in traditional European botanical therapy, Cornflower hydrosol offers anti-inflammatory, calming, and mildly astringent properties. It gently restores vitality to dull or fatigued skin, reduces puffiness, and promotes a refreshed, brightened appearance. Used regularly, it may also support skin regeneration, ease heat-reactive conditions, and provide comfort to delicate or reactive skin types.
Cornflower hydrosol is particularly beloved as an eye compress, offering relief from itching, irritation, or swelling due to fatigue, screen exposure, or environmental stressors. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for the eye area and other sensitive regions of the face.

Cautions
For external use only. Although Cornflower hydrosol is one of the gentlest botanicals, always perform a patch test before use near the eyes or on highly reactive skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigerate after opening and use within 6 months for optimal freshness and efficacy.
Avoid during the first trimester of pregnancy due to the presence of potential phytohormonal compounds.
How to use
Mist directly onto clean skin as a facial toner, eye compress, or refreshing spray. Gently press with a cotton pad to calm the eye area, reduce puffiness, or relieve tired skin after long screen time. This hydrosol also prepares the skin for serums and oils by hydrating and balancing the surface.
Use after cleansing to refine pores, soften fine lines, and support anti-aging care. It can also help regulate sebum and absorb excess oil when used as a midday facial mist.
Soak a mask sheet in hydrosol and apply to clean skin as a hydrating treatment. You may also mist it over facial oil as a gentle mask, allowing the two to penetrate together for 20–30 minutes, then massage the remaining moisture into the skin.
Additional uses include:
-
Post-sun or post-exercise soothing spray
-
Cold or warm compress for inflammation and swelling
-
Pillow or air mist to support sleep and calm emotions
-
Bath blends, baby wipes, or DIY body/linen sprays
-
Pet care: natural deodorizer, skin soother, or flea repellent
-
Minor cuts or abrasions: mist directly to calm and support healing
-
