Description
Preservative ECO (also known as Mikrokill ECT, Geogard ECT and Plantaserv M) is a natural preservative used for natural skincare formulation. Offers broad spectrum activity on bacteria, yeast and moulds. Slightly water soluble. Products may develop an almond-like scent over time due to the oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol. Though it is safe and natural, one of compounds in this preservative – Salicylic Acid- should not be used on kids under the age of 3. Recommended for all kids above 3 in all personal care products.
An effective and simple to use preservative that is palm free and comes with good eco credentials so that it can be used in a diverse range of products and is widely accepted in natural and organic skin and hair products. COSMOS Approved.

Soluble in: Is water and glycerine soluble but can also be used in anhydrous products like sugar scrubs
Use level: Use 1% in your formulations
Odour: Has an almond-like odour, that can be disguised by using essential oils
It is heat sensitive, so you add it to your formulations in the cool down phase when your ingredients are 40 degrees celsius or below.
