How Aromatherapy can benefit our mind, body, and spirit?

Aromatherapy, also known as “essential oil therapy,” is a holistic healing practice to promote the balance of our body, mind, and spirit through touch and smell, like massage, topical application, inhalation, compression, and more.

Recently, aromatherapy has been widely recognized by the market, and many studies have proven it can be widely used in skincare and overall health, like lotion, cream, and moisturizer, reducing inflammation, stimulating cell regeneration, enhancing wound healing, controlling or preventing infection, and reducing allergic reactions and itching, and so much more. Most importantly, everyone of any age can enjoy this natural gift when used properly because it contains “NO” synthetic or other harmful ingredients that could harm your body. Let’s look at how aromatherapy can help us in three main ways.

  • Medicinally
When essential oils enter the bloodstream, they react with hormones and enzymes, causing physical reactions in the body.
  • Physically
Essential oils have a calming and stimulating effect on the body.
  • Mentally
When inhaled, the essential oils work on the mind and emotions to bring emotional balance and calmness.

How does the aromatherapy treatment work?

Each essential oil/carrier oil/hydrosol possesses a high concentration of different active therapeutic compounds create a Synergistic effect when mixing together that interact with our body to enhance our physical and mental healthier through body massage/compression/inhalation, and more.

Aromatherapy has an array of benefits including:

There are three main ways to use essential oils in aromatherapy:  Inhalation, topical application, and oral administration (Aroma Origins does not recommend this method due to safety concerns).

Inhalation

Inhaling essential oils is the most effective way to manage emotion-related health.
The scented molecules of essential oils travel directly from the olfactory nerve to the brain, exerting special effects on the amygdala when inhaled. The emotional center of the brain can provide respiratory disinfection, decongestants, and psychological benefits to each part of our body that is linked to emotions, heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress, and hormone balance. In this way, essential oils can have a subtle, yet holistic, effect on the body.   To learn how to use essential oils by inhalation, check out our blog post.

Essential oils, carrier oils, and hydrosols are absorbed through the skin as massage oils, baths, and skin care products. It can be used for any purpose, including skincare, haircare, body care, and mental health, through different methods: rollons, natural perfumes, massage and body oils, baths, and more.
