FORMULATION GUIDE

Recommended Usage Rate: 3-6%
Formulation method: (may need to revise according to the supplier’s guideline in the end)

1.Add the powder to distilled water or hydrosols at a ratio of 0.5% powder to 99.5% distilled water or hydrosols (since this water-based, add appropriate preservative is required for long term storage)
2.Sprinkle the xanthan gum over the water and whisk in well to thicken
3.Add the powder and whisk in until fully dissolved and incorporate into your homemade skin formulation
4.The powder can be solubilised in water or hydrosols to create a solution. In other words, it does not form a gel. If you wish to have a gel-like appearance when using the powder in cosmetics’ formulation, you should add a gelling agent such as xanthan gum
5.For liquid extract which are generally recommended for use between 3-6% of your total product. They are safe to use in higher percentages but the end product can be sticky with a higher volume of glycerine. They are used in products with a water phase and added when the temperature s below 40C.

APPLICAITONS

For external use only for a wide of cosmetic applications including;

• For powder version, dissolve the powdered version before adding to water-containing products such as toners, emulsions, shower gels, eye gels or even hair rinses.
• Tonic for sensitive and irritated skin
• Sun protector products and after-sun soothing products
• Body care soothing products
• Ranging from cleansers to masques. They offer an excellent, gentle exfoliating properties in scrubs, or a colourful touch to masques and body wraps.
